The Laclede Group, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in the retail distribution, sale, and marketing of natural gas in Missouri and Alabama. It operates through two segments, Gas Utility and Gas Marketing. The company is also involved in marketing natural gas and related activities on non-regulated basis to on-system utility transportation customers, as well as to retail and wholesale customers. In addition, it engages in the transportation of liquid propane; oil production; real estate development; compression of natural gas; and financial investments in other enterprises, as well as provides propane storage and related services to third parties. The company provides natural gas services to approximately 1.5 million residential, commercial, and industrial customers across Missouri and Alabama. The Laclede Group, Inc. was founded in 1857 and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
