It operates through three segments: Ownership, Management and Franchise, and Timeshare. The company also licenses its brands to franchisees; provides hotel management services for third parties; and markets and sells timeshare interests owned by Hilton and third parties. In addition, it provides consumer financing, which includes interest income generated from the origination of consumer loans to finance their purchase of timeshare intervals. The company operates hotels under the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Curio - A Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton, Tru by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton, Hilton Grand Vacations, and Tapestry Collection by Hilton brands. As of March 22, 2017, it had 4,900 properties with approximately 800,000 rooms in 104 countries and territories. Hilton, Inc. was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in McLean, Virginia.
